888 is a subsidiary of 888 Holdings PLC, a company which owns several casino brands around the world. It’s a publicly traded company on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: 888L). 888 was founded in 1997 in the British Virgin Islands as Virtual Holdings Limited.
The company entered the regulated US online gaming market in 2013. 888 partnered up with the WSOP brand, providing its gaming platform and launching in Nevada in September of that year.
By 2015, 888 was running four of the five legal gambling sites in the US. Three of them were located in Delaware, while one was in Nevada. Fast forward to 2018, and 888 entered the fast-growing NJ sports betting market.
So what does 888 have to offer new players? Read on and find out. Let’s begin by taking a look at how to sign-up.
888 Sign-up Process
Signing up to play at 888 is a piece of cake. Once you pull up the website, you’ll find a spot to get started in the upper right hand corner of the page.
Once you click ‘sign up,’ you’ll be brought to a new page where you can begin the process. First up, you’ll need to tell them who you are.
Once that’s out of the way, click next and move on. It’s now time to pick your user name and password, as well as to enter some additional info.
Next up, it’s time to add your address and social security number. We get it. We don’t like giving out our social either, but it’s part of the sign-up process that’s required by law. Some sites only want the last four digits, but 888 wants the whole she-bang.
One note to keep in mind: if 888 has trouble verifying your information, they may require you to provide additional documentation. This is standard practice among casino operators and nothing to sweat about.
Assuming you’re good to go, you’ll get a congratulations message and have two options.
Decisions, decisions. We’ll cover the deposit options in detail in a bit. Outside of that, your account is all set. Pretty simple, right? We think so too and give the sign-up process at 888 five stars.
888 Deposit Options and Fees
Now that your account is all set, there’s a good chance you’ll want to add some funds and get to playing. Luckily, you’ll find plenty of different ways to do so at 888. For starters, look for the big red cashier button at the top of the screen.
After you click that, you’ll be brought to a new screen which lists out your options.
If you click on the arrow where it says ‘more,’ you’ll find even more options.
Before we walk through the process, you should note that not all methods are available for both deposits and withdrawals. The handy table down below breaks it down for you.
|888 Funding Option||Deposit||Withdraw||Cost|

As you can see, you have standard options such as online banking or credit cards, as well as convenient options such as PayPal and Neteller. If you’re the type who prefers to do business in person, then you’re in luck with 888.
The operator has an agreement in place with Caesars casino in Atlantic City. Users can visit a casino cage at the luxury property to make deposits or snag their winnings.
Once you have selected your deposit method, you’ll enter the amount of money you wish to add to your 888 account. After clicking through, your transaction will be processed. This was pretty quick in our experience, and we quickly got a message stating we were good to go.
Now that your account is loaded, you can click back to the lobby and get to the action.
All told, adding money to 888 was a snap. It’s an easy and painless process which you can zip through in no time. We have it rated as 4.5 out of out of 5 stars, but we could easily kick it up a notch if they add some more funding options.
Interested in sports betting? Then you’ve made the right call in visiting 888. Right at the top of the screen, you’ll find a link labeled ‘bet on sports.’ Click it. We’ll wait.
Doing so will bring you over to the sportsbook side of the game. It’s a whole new page, so don’t be nervous if your browser redirects you. Once you get there, you’ll be glad you checked it out.
You’ll find that all of the major sports are offered, as well as a bunch of popular niches. Into baseball? Check, 888 has you covered. More of a soccer head? You’re in the right place with 888. Down with UFC/MMA? Welcome to 888. The table below lists out all of the different sports available.

So there’s plenty of sports available, but how do the odds compare to other sports books? We’re glad you asked. In our research, 888 is in line with what you’ll find with other operators. Point spread and total bets are generally in range of -110, while money line bets are in the ballpark of what you’ll find elsewhere.
Once you click on the event you wish to bet on, you’ll open up a ticket with all of the options available to wager on.
888 has a pretty smooth set up for sports betting. You’ll find all of the standard betting options, as well as parlays, various promos, and futures.
If live betting is your thing, then simply click on the link at the top of the main menu.
Once you click that, all of the events happening right now will come up for you to check out.
888 has the bases covered when it comes to sports betting. We give it a big thumbs up as a result.
Live Dealer Games
If live dealer games are your thing, then you’ll probably find something that does it for you on 888. From the main lobby menu, you’ll see a link for ‘live casino.’
Clicking that link will bring you to a new screen which shows you what 888 has to offer.
Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, and Baccarat are offered. If you click on poker, you’ll see what 888 brings to the table.
The live dealer games on 888 do the trick, but they’re not necessarily as slick as what some other operators have to offer. It all comes down to user preference, so it’s definitely worth checking out to see if it suits your needs.
Fear not, slot players. You will find plenty of games to choose from at 888. Even better, you’ll find a really cool menu once you click on slot games from the main lobby.
Once you hover over one of the games, the right side of the screen will give you a full breakdown of what’s what.
It’s a neat little feature which will save you a ton of time Instead of randomly clicking on games to find a good fit, you can do some window shopping first. 888 also offers a number of exclusive and jackpot titles.
Specifically, there are 17 in the jackpot category and 25 in the exclusive category. Here they are for your reference, but please note that there’s some crossover between the two categories.
All together, there are 265 different games for reel players to choose from. That’s a little less than some of the other major online casinos. That said, there’s a good chance you’ll find there’s a great selection overall.
888 offers a mobile app for both iOS and Android users. Unfortunately, that information is not readily apparent on the main website. Instead, we had to click through some help menus to find some info.
When we clicked one of the links, we found what we were looking for.
As for the mobile experience itself, it’s similar to what you’ll find online. It’s pretty smooth and intuitive, but we found the playing experience on the main site to be a bit more user friendly.
Unlike most operators, there’s not a clear link for support from the main website page. Maybe this question mark will lead the way.
A-ha! That brings us to the support center. Once you scroll down to the bottom, you’ll find the contact link.
That brings us to a generic contact form which looks like this.
The lack of a live support option is a real bummer. We also have to give 888 a thumbs down for not making things more clear cut. Users shouldn’t have to go searching for phone numbers and addresses. It’s a bad look, and other major players in the space don’t make that mistake.
We had trouble finding the education section on 888. There’s nothing listed on the main website, so we went to the help section.
Since we’re the resilient type, we decided to try again.
Now we’re cooking with fire? Wait, are we? We had to do some more clicking to figure that out.
Turns out there is a helpful set of instructions online. You just have to be willing to hunt for it.
There’s some good stuff in there. Too bad 888 doesn’t do a better job of making it easily accessible.
The Bottom Line
888 offers a clean website experience on both the casino and sportsbook side. The sign-up process is quick and easy, and there’s plenty of ways to move money around. Game selections are solid, and there are a number of cool features which 888 offers to make the user experience enjoyable.
On the downside, the site comes up short on the support and education front. We’ll hold out hope that those two areas will be addressed by 888. Other operators do a much better job on both of those fronts. In the meantime, 888 is worth a look for both casino games and the sportsbook.
